Park Profile: White Sands

Holiday Haven
07 Dec 2022

Jervis Bay is arguably the jewel in the Shoalhaven crown – filled with stunning scenic beauty and a host of holiday hot spots. So if there were ever such a thing as a jewel within the jewel, it might just be the premium strip of land known as the ‘point’ at Huskisson – where the sand sparkles just as much as the sea. Welcome to White Sands!

White Sands Safari Tent

Your Holiday Haven

Holiday Haven White Sands is often known as ‘the caravan park on the point’ and you don’t need a geography degree to see why. With uninterrupted views and access to Jervis Bay, it enjoys a sought after location at the northern end of Huskisson Beach. (At the southern end, you’ll find another Holiday Haven park!)

Accommodation at White Sands is headlined by the iconic Safari Tents – in family size and couples size – located in a prominent beachfront location. There are also more than 10 types of cabin (sleeping up to 6 people) as well as tree-fringed powered and ensuite sites for camping and caravans.

For kids, there is a centrally-located playground and easy access down to the beaches either side of Tapalla Point. BBQ facilities and a camp kitchen provide easy cooking options for those camping, while free WiFi throughout the park will keep you connected during your stay.

The park’s location is the true gem of course – right on the water (and those namesake squeaky white beaches) but also such a short stroll into town via the waterfront park and path.

Jervis Bay Local

Local Attractions

To stay at White Sands unlocks everything Husky has to offer – and as the unofficial ‘capital’ of Jervis Bay, that’s quite a lot!

If you’re hungry, you’ll be spoilt for choice immediately. From breakfast at Nutmeg Cafe or the iconic century-old Huskisson Bakery Cafe through to delicious modern coastal fare at popular 5 Little Pigs Cafe or a touch of fine dining at Wildginger, there is a menu to suit everyone’s tastes from sunrise to long after dark. And if you prefer to DIY your dining experience, why not pick up some picnic ingredients at Huskisson Markets (2nd Sunday of the month) – full of delicious local produce.

Need to burn off some of those delicious meals? Enjoy one of the walking tracks that link the beaches south of Husky – or hire a bike and see it from two wheels instead! If water-sports are more your cup of tea, your cup runneth over with paddleboarding and kayaking, diving and even surf lessons all easily accessible, with hire options just minutes away. And for the truly athletic, time your stay with the various triathlon and multisport events held throughout the year and based right alongside the park!

Of course, if you’d like to stay above the water rather than below, a dolphin and whale watching cruise is a must-do – with Jervis Bay Wild and Dolphin Watch Cruises both professional, award-winning operators each with 25+ years in the business.

The fun doesn’t end there of course. Step away from the bay, and not far away you’ll find horse riding, the local maritime museum and even a gorgeous local movie theatre, to name just a few. Your stay won’t be boring, that’s for sure!

The Right Sands

There’s a reason why tourists have been flocking to the sands of Jervis Bay for more than a century. And with the attractions of Husky on one side and the natural playground of sand and sea on the other, Holiday Haven White Sands is the essence of this – a perfect spot to make incredible holiday memories any time of year. See you soon!
