Park Profile: Burrill Lake

Holidaying can be a very individual thing – it’s about finding an escape that is perfectly suited to you. And that’s why the small and unique absolute lake frontage on offer at Burrill Lake finds many lifelong fans. This isn’t about supersized “bigger better more” holiday vibes. No, this is holidays how they used to make them. A relaxed family atmosphere, where everything is just a short stroll away. Park the car on day 1 and you won’t need it again. Burrill bliss!

Just a short stroll to the lake side

Your Holiday Haven

Located just a few minutes’ drive south of Ulladulla, you’ll know you’ve gone too far if you cross the iconic bridge that spans the namesake lake’s exit to the ocean. Nestled on the north side of this stretch, alongside the township, our friendly Holiday Haven Burrill Lake park awaits.

Accommodation options include absolute lakefront sites and cabins, as well as larger villas and cottages that sleep up to six and enjoy stunning views across the water towards Pigeon House Mountain in the distance.

Your boat is more than welcome here, with a direct boat ramp into the lake, while SUP hire is also available for exploring the safe turquoise waters. Other features on site include a playground, heated pool, BBQs, camp kitchen and even an outdoor cinema for a movie under the stars. Dogs are also welcome – find out about the dog friendly options available outside school holiday times by calling ahead: 02 4444 8840.

The Fish Shop

Local Attractions

One of the benefits of staying right next to “Burrill” (guests and locals are on a first name basis) is that nothing is too far away. As we already established, once you’ve arrived, there’s no need to bother with the car keys for the rest of your stay – just grab your thongs and go for a wander.

Everything ‘round here is a little understated. Take the unassuming hole-in-the-wall that is “The Fish Shop” – just a two minute walk from the Park and not just a favourite with locals, but constantly named “the best fish n chips on the South Coast” for its delicious fresh prawns, oysters and of course succulent fish and chips. Having this place on your doorstep is a real treat!

Well that’s lunch and dinner sorted, but what about some coffees, pastries and bread to start the day? Look no further than right next door – the Lagom sourdough bakery; open Wednesday to Sunday and a great way to start the day.

Girawa Walking Track

Time to walk all this food off, with one of the area’s many walking and biking tracks. Follow the creek out to the sea on a scenic walk to surfing and fishing favourite Dolphin Point Beach, or sample local Aboriginal Culture along the lake-hugging Girawa Walking Track, which includes a historical cave. Mountain bikers can get their fix at the MUD (Milton Ulladulla District) MTB Park in Woodburn just a 10-minute ride from your site, with loads of tracks to explore. Or if you like your tracks smoother, follow the bike path from Burrill all the way to Ulladulla and on to Mollymook Beach.

Or if all that is simply too much action, enjoy a day of blissful Burrill pampering at the local Goddess Day Spa or perhaps recover from the action with a satisfying remedial massage at Margi’s Massage & Beauty.
